A rare and little-known aria from the oratorio "Le sette ultime parole di Nostro Signore sulla croce" (Seven last words of Our Lord on the Cross). The aria is the fifth part of the oratorio and is titled in Italian "Ho sete!" (I thirst!) describing the torment of Christ as he was crucified on the cross.
