Annotation

Die »New Riders Of The Purple Sage« waren ein Seitenprojekt der Grateful Dead, wurden aber schnell durch den von ihnen gespielten Hippie Country Rock zum Selbstläufer mit dem Radio-Hit ›Panama Red‹. 1971 kam das Debüt ›The New Riders of the Purple Sage‹ auf den Markt, auf dem eine Mischung aus West Coast und Country zu hören war. Es folgten die Alben ›Powerglide‹ (1972), ›Gypsy Cowboy‹ (1973), ›The Adventures of Panama Red‹ (mit Buffy Sainte-Marie und den Memphis Horns) sowie das Live-Album ›Home, Home on the Road‹ (1974).

Inhalt:
New Riders Of The Purple Sage (1971)
