Annotation

In the U.S. some Bruce Springsteen 7″ singles came in picture sleeves with curved opening on top (1980–1985) and others came in picture sleeves with straight opening on top (1984–1995). Two variants of the “My Hometown” picture sleeve exist: with curved opening on top (version 1) and with straight opening on top (version 2 and version 3). Moreover, there are two versions of the picture sleeves with straight opening on top. One has the front side higher than back side and gluing flaps are part of the back side (version 2) and one has the back side higher than front side, gluing flaps are part of the front side (version 3).

“MASTERDISK” on the runout groove indicates that the lacquer was cut at Masterdisk. “BK” on the runout groove indicates that the lacquer was cut by Bill Kipper. “P” code on the runout groove indicates that the record was pressed at Columbia Records Pressing Plant in Pitman, NJ. The “ZSS” prefix on the runout groove (and on the labels) is Columbia Records’ code for 7″ single stereo 45 rpm.
