This month for International Women’s Day I wanted to tackle a song that has really resonated me this past year - ‘The Tradition’ by Halsey - the haunting opening track from the album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ (produced by NIN’s Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross).
The themes of female power, control, and pain resonate throughout this astounding body of work as the lyrics consider the historical treatment of women. I hope it will introduce you to a brilliant album if you don’t already know it.
I was very luckily to collaborate with Charlie Cawood on this as he recorded his beautiful harp and acoustic guitar remotely for this new reworking: charliecawood.bandcamp.com
