0: The Benefactor Has Arrived

The story you are about to hear in 2026 is a passion project, within the preexisting passion project of mine that is DMT Tapes FL. I have been working on this label for 11+ years, but I've been working on this story for 15+ years. But all that "work" meant ultimately nothing, because it was the grace of God that allowed this story to form in the way that you are about to see & hear it. It was always bound to come out of me one way or another, but with the Lord as the guide over all creation, I pray that this is enjoyable and gratifying for those who want it. I've participated in something here that will allow me to indulge myself without getting in the way of those who aren't into the concept. If you would like to embark with me into the "vaporwave opera" that is the story called The Benefactor Has Arrived (or The Benefactor (2026) for short), then you will be able to delve into the hopeful richness of leitmotif and themes on a variation (two of my very favorite concepts of the vaporwave genre, as well as in OST storytelling). Albums that are part of the story's canon will not have the FL-XXX catalog numbers but rather the X: at each record's start (these are not part of the titles but rather simple numbering for your ease of sequence).

The music of these albums is designed to be non-disruptively and quintessentially DMTFL, though it will resemble more of the output heard in 2024-25 than the 2014-2023 period. Some people might not be into this and that's okay! This is part of why I made sure to have there be enough back catalog for any listener who might want to take a hiatus from the contemporary release cycle. I do hope, regardless of your interest in the upcoming fiction that is about to unfold here, that you enjoy the music (or at the very least enjoy the time you spend in the midst of this storytelling rollout).
