• Born January 1948 and best known as the co-founder, lead singer, co-songwriter, and keyboardist of Steely Dan, Donald Fagen remains among the most respected and esteemed musicians and performers in the music community.
• In addition to his work with Steely Dan, Fagen has released four solo albums, beginning his solo career in 1982 with The Nightfly,
which was nominated for seven Grammy Awards. In 2001, Fagen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Steely Dan. Following his musical partner Walter Becker's death in 2017, Fagen has continued to tour as the only original member of the Dan.
• Fagen's third solo album, Morph the Cat, was released on March 14, 2006, and featured Wayne Krantz (guitar), Jon Herington (guitar), Keith Carlock (drums), Freddie Washington (bass), Ted Baker (piano), and Walt Weiskopf (sax). It reached 26 on Billboard Top 200 albums list.
• The Morph The Cat tour began on March 3rd at the Westbury Theatre, out on Long Island, and on the 7th, the week before the
album’s release, he was at the famous Beacon Theatre in New York, for a show which has become something of a legendary
performance.
• Featuring Martha Wainright as special guest, with whom he performed Martha’s, ‘Year of The Dragon’, the show was a spectacular event, featuring as it did a fine selection of cuts from his recent record. Alongside the new numbers, Donald and his band played cuts from his previous LPs, plus a healthy dose of Steely Dan classics.
• Recorded for live FM Radio broadcast, the entire show is now available on this new 2CD set for the first time.
