Time Scale

Zhu Wenbo is involved in many different music projects. He uses clarinet, saxophone, microphones, speakers, recorders, percussion and more. His works include composition, improvisation, events and publications focusing on "music unlike music." Zhu ran the weekly experimental music series, Zoomin' Night, at legendary live spaces D-22 and XP, from 2009-2015 in Beijing. Since 2015, Zoomin Nights became a cassette label, continuing a focus on "music unlike music" releases.
Time Scale is a composition/arrangement written for multiple players to perform. One or more listeners can interact and perform along with Wenbo's clarinet and guitar parts recorded on tape. These tonal/fragmented pieces, intermixed with silence have a meditative quality that can be enjoyed simply in the act of listening as well. A document of thought and process.
