Annotation
Mehdi Bahmad's debut single Rouge à Lèvres, an atmospheric and layered romantic appeal for gender roles liberation, was independently released in April 2018.
The rouge à lèvres - lipstick - is symbolic of a strong archetype of femaleness and is used by Mehdi to question the norms of gender paradigms.
The music video he directed and conceived himself, captured by the rising Canadian cinematographer Derek Branscombe, was released on July 12th and premiered by iHeart Radio Canada.
