Annotation

From booklet, p. 16: "Mastered from hi-res files of the original analog masters"
_____________
Note on the recording dates: For the "Components" session (CD2, tracks 4-12): Probably the correct date for the session is 1965-06-10.
In this Bobby Hutcherson Mosaic set it is given as June 14, 1965 on page 5 of the booklet, and June 10, 1965 on page 14 of the booklet, and in the individual CD 1 & 2 booklet. In an email exchange with Scott Wenzel of Mosaic Records, he replied on 2024-07-25: "I would go with what Michael Cuscuna had put in the discography and CD booklet discography as June 10th. Plus In Ruppli/Cuscuna BN Discography, the date is listed as June 10. The June 14 date was probably in error by Bob (Blumenthal) when he did the notes."

Either way it must have been a double session day for recording engineer Rudy van Gelder:
1965-06-10: van Gelder recorded a long John Coltrane “Transition” session (+ Porter reference)
1965-06-14: van Gelder recorded a Wayne Shorter session (“Etcetera” album credits).

For "Happenings" and "Spiral" sessions there are also some date conflicts. For the van Gelder sessions, this sessionography can be investigated.
