Annotation

A filmed segment for the CBC youth program Switchback, hosted by comedian Eric Tunney and produced within CBC’s regional weekend lineup. The episode features an on-camera performance and interview with Get Loose Crew and was shot on location at the Flemingdon Park Resource Centre in North York, Toronto.
This appearance is recognized as one of the first — and likely the earliest confirmed — national television features of a Canadian hip-hop group. Switchback aired across multiple CBC regions throughout the 1980s, giving emerging artists rare national exposure at a time when Canadian hip-hop had virtually no broadcast representation.
MC Shadow served as spokesman for the group during the interview, with the segment contributing to the early visibility and documentation of Toronto’s developing hip-hop scene.
